The Post-TV Age?

The most basic cable package from Charter (Spectrum?) costs me more than $70 per month, and that's without any equipment other than a single cable card. It's very clear why people have been cutting the cord with cable TV companies. But, what options exist? Do the alternatives actually cost less? Are the alternatives as good?

Prospective TV cable-cutters, even those with technical abilities, often are flummoxed in the face of choosing between all of the content options and new technologies available. Reliable sources of complete and neutral information in this space are hard to find, and the fun evaporates rapidly when you're faced with hours of stumbling through forums and strings of searches.

iTVMediaCenter: Scam or Brilliance?

The folks at iTVMediaCenter recently contacted me about their one-stop-shop solution for cord-cutters. For $14.99, they sell a program that consolidates tons of on-line media into a central location so you can watch it on demand. The problem is, it looks like the application does little more than open the same Web sites you can open with a browser.

Interview with Cory Fields of XBMC

XBMC was originally created for the first-generation Xbox, but has evolved to now be primarily available for Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.
