Don't know whether it's been pointed out or not, but you don't need to make a binary installer executable to run it - indeed you shouldn't. Instead you should run "sh " to run it within the confines of a bourn shell process. I'm referring to the article on Death from the Deep - it was a while ago, but it was a good review.
