Unfortunately, Rogers of Canada has canceled the show in Canada, and previously in Australia about couple of weeks ago....
Cancellation of The Lab with Leo
On March 28th, 2008 Peter (not verified) says:
I'm disappointed at the cancellation - I was about to write my cable company in Australia, but it appears the blame lies elsewhere.
Yeah, bummer. :(
On March 26th, 2008 Shawn Powers says:
I know, I'm hopeful the cancellation wasn't due to my appearance on the show, although the timing for the announcement was creepishly close to air date... ;)
Leo is going to do a TWiT video himself, which should be pretty interesting. I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

Well...

Macbooks do run Linux quite nicely. :)
In all fairness though, I was running OSX at the time. I didn't want to mess up the TV spot with a beta version of Skype for Linux.
I really love Apple hardware. The ability to triple boot is really awesome.

cheaper solution...
On March 21st, 2008 Dan (not verified) says:
He suggests buying a new camera, and mic. Sure, that's a solution if you have money enough for both.
A cheaper solution requiring less new parts is don't bother buying a new camera, if you're happy with the current one's video quality:
Either using a shotgun mic, as he says, or lavalier mic, or even a headset mic (you may have one for speaking on Skype, or similar), and record the sound seporately/directly onto your computer, Audacity works fine, and then sync it to the video.
How to sync? Well, you know those big clapper-boards they use on films? Same idea, but again, cheaper. When you start your scene, clap your hands once, so that the mic and the camera shot both pick it up. Then in your video editor, line up the computer recorded sound, and the video clip.
If you import the video from the camera including the audio from the camera, you can line up the clap on the camera audio with the clap on the computer-recorded audio.
