Amateur Radio

Born in Toronto, Canada, David started with SlackWare back in the early 1990s, picked up the O'Reilly distribution of what was one of the first commercial Red Hat distributions and the rest is history. Since then, he has integrated Linux into NetWare, Windows and Unix environments and vice versa, working from single monster machines to purpose built systems from clustered web services to DNS to basic file and print.

Lately he has been focusing on Red Hat and Fedora based distributions. You will not find him on Facebook and he has not tweeted in more than six months. You will find him in the #linuxjournal channel during the week and he shares his thoughts on the world of Open Source, especially the challenges of the heterogenous environment on the Linux Journal web site.

Since I do not know to write software, I do not have any of the previous tried solutions which did not work. Voice is composed of at least 4 parts. Speech is the only one that communicates ideas. We make automatic gain controls to keep the amplitude at maximum level, so that should not be sent and use bandwidth. Pitch makes one person sound different from another, but should not use bandwidth when we do not know what the other person should sound like. Timing is critical. You cannot send a message faster then it takes a person to say it. Sending a message slower then a person says it waste bandwidth. My idea handles all 4 of these parts of voice. Please contact me or better yet help write software to hake this happen.

LiMux, a project to convert local government institutions to Linux and open source software in Munich, has exceeded initial expectations. The project has done slightly better than projections of 8,500 and now boasts 9,000 Linux migrated workstations. The progress and evolution of this project that began in 2003 is well worth examination.

I started a project that is similar to your interests. If you could help me would mean a lot. http://oglasibeograd.net

hi, david, i like your article, i am a webcam girl from http://www.89teen.com

Hi David, I saw your article on celtx. I have used this prorgammed to assist me in writing my first play, but I am now having problems printing it off. My home PC and printer are not working at the moment, so I have been trying to print it off at public libraries, but no joy. Have you any ideas, to help me? A friend is very keen to have a copy of the play, as he is going to write the music and do the voiceovers for it.
Many thanks,
Fi

When it prints, it should create a PDF that you can save...if it isn't generating the PDF, you may have other issues...

I hear your headed to Boston too ! we'll have to get together for coffee or something....

See you there.

Red Hat White Paper: Using an Open Source Framework to Catch the Bad Guy

Built-in forensics, incident response, and security with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Every security policy provides guidance and requirements for ensuring adequate protection of information and data, as well as high-level technical and administrative security requirements for a system in a given environment. Traditionally, providing security for a system focuses on the confidentiality of the information on it. However, protecting the data integrity and system and data availability is just as important. For example, when processing United States intelligence information, there are three attributes that require protection: confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
