Google Gadgets for Linux
Google Gadgets for Linux are simple HTML and JavaScript applications that can be embedded in web pages and other applications. By all accounts, Gadget support for Linux was a major undertaking for the Google team as it is an entire platform for mini applications. You can check out the source code for it on Google's Gadget for Linux project page.
A few videos of Gadgets for Linux are popping up on YouTube. See Gadgets in action:

Videos no longer available?
It would appear that Google pulled the videos from YouTube, or those who submitted them took them down...
Videos are all available
Maybe YouTube was down for a bit... completely possible. All the videos seem to still be available and are running just fine. Now try. :)
