This poll is a joke, you never release the full results. Until you do that how am I supposed to know anything I didn't already know before taking the poll? Most of the number ones are easly guessable but it is nice to see the movement of the “rest”

I ask every year but have never received an answer. This poll is a joke, you never release the full results. Until you do that how am I supposed to know anything I didn't already know before taking the poll? Most of the number ones are easly guessable but it is nice to see the movement of the “rest” of the crowd. PLEASE RELEASE THE FULL RESULTS THIS YEAR.
Kubuntu/Xubuntu are the same as Ubuntu? Following this logic, we could say that Ubuntu, Linux Mint, etc. are similar to Debian and put them all in the same group.
Kubuntu/Xubuntu are not the same as Ubuntu, this can not be implied.
The default programs are different, the look is different, the menus are different, the computer places are different, the experiences are different, the authors are different... and if someone is told to read a documentation page for Ubuntu, it is not valid for the others.
Also, there's more people working with Calligra than KOffice, that was a previous version.
Anyone watching Distrowatch knows that Mageia is currently beating Ubuntu by a good margin. Only Mint manages to stay above Mageia? Why even list Mandriva? Some of the option are so 2009 and clearly Gnome and *buntu (and derivatives) based! What about Libre Office? The rest of us moved on!
I agree with the previous posts. Unity, Cinnamon and MATE should be on this list. Also, gnome-shell should be listed, not GNOME3.x (As GNOME3.x applies to both gnome-shell /and/ cinnamon). On that note, one could even label xfce as a branch of GNOME2.x... Are you sure you haven't crossed wires between "Window managers" and "Desktop environments"?
What about graphics drivers? In most cases, linux users will choose one GPU manufacturer over another because of driver support. Some users choose to use the proprietary drivers like nvidia's while others use FOSS alternatives like nouveau.
Clementine should also definitely be on this list as many Amarok 1.x fans have switched to it. Finally - and this is just nit-picking but - Amarok is incorrectly capitalized in the poll as "AmaroK"
Guys, please, please, put software from 2012 on the list!!!
Ubuntu Netbook Remix?!? Seriously?
Where are Unity and Cinnamon under desktop environments?
Where is the Clementine media player?
You should have updated the options before starting the poll...
KOffice is dead by now with all the developers working on Calligra and making releases several times a year. Maybe replace KOffice with Calligra in the poll, KWord with Words and so on?
KDE does not represent desktop anymore for a couple of years now. KDE represent community creating free and open source software. The desktop you are talking about is Plasma. So the entry for desktop environment should probably read KDE Plasma. Also KOffice is not active much anymore. The most active office suite from KDE is now Calligra, which should be added to the poll.
