I was fortunate to meet Mark Spencer (the author of Asterisk) at VoiceCon this year. Mark is a really nice guy. I enjoyed talking to him.

He reminded me that his company, Digium is in the business of selling hardware that works with Asterisk. I think giving Digium preferential treatment for VoIP hardware is a fair price to pay for the hard work that went into Asterisk
