Linux Journal Senior Editor Will be Contestant in Golden Penguin Bowl at LinuxWorld Conference & Expo

NEWSFLASH: August 30, 2001 -- Linux Journal's Doc Searls and his teammates win prestigious Golden Penguin Bowl award. SEATTLE, WA -- SSC Publications, publisher of the award-winning monthly magazine Linux Journal and its sister publication Embedded Linux Journal, is pleased to announce that Linux Journal senior editor Doc Searls will be a celebrity contestant in the Golden Penguin Bowl at LinuxWor

The Golden Penguin Bowl, a quiz show hosted by IDG, will take place on Tuesday, August 28, at the Marriott San Francisco at 2:00PM. Hosted by Nicholas Petreley, contestants will include Joe Barr, Journalist; Daniel Frye, IBM; Jon "maddog" Hall, Linux International; Michael Tiemann, Red Hat; Dan Quinlan, Linux Standard Base; and Linux Journal's own Doc Searls. Volunteers will join these celebrities in a game of open source trivia.

The Golden Penguin Bowl is a feature presentation of LinuxWorld Conference & Expo; the largest Linux event world-wide. Linux Journal will be prominently featured in booth #283 where free issues of the magazine will be distributed to attendees and vendors.
