On November 3, 1998, Informix and Apropos Retail Management Systems announced an agreement to install an in-store, Linux-based retail management system for Jay Jacobs, a major clothing retailer specializing in young men's and women's fashions. Each Jay Jacobs retail outlet will utilize a Linux version of the Apropos Store Manager and Apropos Intranet developed with Informix Dynamic 4GL, running on a Linux version of the Informix-SE database. System installation will begin immediately at the company's headquarters and will continue in over 100 Jay Jacobs stores during 1999.
