Hi! I am very interested in learning as much about Linux as I can. Currently I am using Xubuntu on both my desktop and laptop. But that may change next week. I have tried many of the current distros. My next project is to build an Arch OS that I really like. I am not an educated professional, so KIS. Thanks.

I recently started working on a Macbook with Snow Leopard (I'll try Lion soon). I love the box, and will be adding a disk where the super drive is to put Linux on. This is my first new machine. I had a rebuilt iBook for a long time that ran Tiger. I ran a version of Mint for PPC for a long time. It had Open Box and Abiword along with Gedit. I put Deb on the iBook also, and actually it still works. Several homebuilts later I have bought a new Mac. On my new Mac I do not want Linux to get mixed up with OS X via VMware. So I'll put a disk in where the super drive is, and run the super drive externally. I am rather old fashioned when it comes to phones. I'll probably by an iPhone soon. Will Android phones play nice with OS X? I would love to have friends who have experience with Linux on Mac.
Realizing the promise of Apache® Hadoop® requires the effective deployment of compute, memory, storage and networking to achieve optimal results. With its flexibility and multitude of options, it is easy to over or under provision the server infrastructure, resulting in poor performance and high TCO. Join us for an in depth, technical discussion with industry experts from leading Hadoop and server companies who will provide insights into the key considerations for designing and deploying an optimal Hadoop cluster.

Built-in forensics, incident response, and security with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
Every security policy provides guidance and requirements for ensuring adequate protection of information and data, as well as high-level technical and administrative security requirements for a system in a given environment. Traditionally, providing security for a system focuses on the confidentiality of the information on it. However, protecting the data integrity and system and data availability is just as important. For example, when processing United States intelligence information, there are three attributes that require protection: confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
