I am Jon, I am Spanish and I am 16 years old. I write you due to your advanced knowledge, specialy at saving Hard Disks, or Pen Drives.
Trying to enable another CD reader ( I don't know how it is said in English ), my D: Hard Disk failed, it was working fine without jumper, however, now I am trying to fix it using testdisk, PTDD Partition table doctor...
I had no good news so I found this post translated in other blog and there was a link to your's.
I am extremly tired and lost. I only want to know how to do what you did ( understand how a Hard disk works and be able to change its partition table ). Any PDF, link or document would be so useful for me now, because apart from my hard disk I have two pen drives that are broken too ( arent mine but friends gave me to try to fix them, what I have not known how to do).
That's all, thanks for reading and please, help me making my 80GB hard disk work.
