This week in WorldWatch.LinuxGazette [1], the most popular article [2] was about how an employee lost his job for writing a paper that warned "Microsoft's dominance of desktop computer operating systems poses a national security threat". The second most popular article, also from the US and also about security, was about how to hack Cisco routers. [3] We also posted links and abstracts for seven new white papers from MIT's FLOSS site. [4]

From Germany, we had an announcement from the UN [5] that acknowledges FLOSS is a human resource worth protecting. From Spain we had a publicity piece from El Mundo [6] that will bring FLOSS into more peoples' sphere of awareness. I also reviewed Irdial~Discs, a Free Music site [7] that I found quite by accident.

On a personal note, I think I have given enough bribes that I actually may get an ISDN line installed next week. This will be wonderful, as my current connection speed (measured this morning at 14.4 Kb/second) makes doing the research for WorldWatch.LinuxGazette almost painful.
