"Unlimited" Costs Verizon $1 Million

Not knowing what a word means can cause all sorts of problems, but it's not that often that one of those problems costs a million dollars. Unless you're Verizon, that is.

According to an announcement made today, Verizon has settled the false advertising claims related to their promotion of a limited-use wireless broadband plan as “unlimited.” The settlement will reportedly set them back $1 million, which will provide refunds to customers who purchased hardware for the service and were disconnected for “excessive use.”
