Who is excited about Drupal 6?

Last week, drupal.org posted the news that the version 6 beta 3 release is now available.

Version 6 looks like a major departure from 5 much the same way 5 seemed when compared to 4.7 and earlier. There are a lot of new features, and I am particularly anxious to try out the new handling of forums, and I am curious about the inclusion of openID support in the core.

If anyone has any thoughts about their Drupal 6 experiences so far, I'd love to hear them. I plan on giving it a go pretty soon as well.

I've been thinking about checking out drupal since I saw it on Heather Armstrong's blog, Dooce, when Dooce changed designs last week. Looks like some neat stuff is in there....has anyone else had experience with it as a content management system?

improved installer

I'm happy to see the Drupal team worked on fine tuning their installer, apparently it's,
"An improved installer that guides you through the initial setup steps, making it significantly easier to start up a Drupal site." I've recommended Drupal to a couple of friends in the past, but they were both frustrated with the install and never made it past. Drupal will gain greater mass appeal quickly with a cleaner installer. Kudos to the Drupal team on this latest beta release. Obviously we're all fans here. :)

Please don't hesitate to document your findings when they happen. Some of us (uh, ok, me) are procrastinating regarding the changeover we need to do on our own systems because D6 is just around the corner.

I forgot to mention that the theming process is supposed to be a bit more straightforward for people who may be css gurus, but not familiar with drupal.
