Thank you for the Free
Thank you for the Free eBooks link.
I was surprised, however, to find ebooks on Linux in .chm format (e.g. Ubuntu Hacks, Tips and Tools, by O'Reilly). Seems like a strange choice, given that this is a Microsoft document(ation) format which is not directly accessible on Linux/Ubuntu systems (I understand there's a Firefox extension). I suppose that's something I should put to O'Reilly inc.

Writing a book - Howto Learn and Use Linux
I am writing a book on teaching Linux. It is available to anyone to download from my web site for free -- www.dearroz.com. I only ask that you register. Volume 1, which is basically complete, covers the fundamentals and basic server setup, and focuses on the basic use through the command line, but does address the usage of the GUI. Volume 2, which still requires considerable work, addresses more advanced topics. I am also open to contributions (and corrections).
My preface for this work was that in teaching Linux at a major university, I found that most books assume that the new user came into the classroom with some understanding, which is not the case. I have written it in a style that leads one in a step by step process of learning what can be performed.
I hope all enjoy.
Dennis
Thanks!
Will download and enjoy! :)

NOT free.
Many, many of the books on that list (looks like >75%) are VERY not free. They are
pirated / scanned published books from O'Reilly's and other publishers.
In some cases, this is clear by the title.
