can't login

I followed the directions including stopping openfire, running 'sudo /etc/init.d/openfire restart' [/etc/init.d/Openfire restart would not work as the O is not capitalized.. it's lower case] and still I get the login indicating a wrong ID or password. I just reinstalled. Why can't I log in to this ?
