Best. Cake. Ever.

Redditor azimir submitted a photo of his birthday cake to reddit, and I couldn't help but share with the whole class. From the comments, I gather that the baker's son is a Linux geek and hooked him up with some code to decorate the cake. The baker is as yet unidentified, but I'll be sure to update this post if that changes.

Go join in on the fun in the comments, and vote it up. If ever a cake deserved the top spot, this is likely that cake.

Update: The baker is Leah Wendt, and it was her daughter, a developer, who advised her to use bash script. See her comment below.

Its just the way this world turns. However, that’s not something we’re used to seeing in the automotive world, where each new model year is typically Vessels Work Lights such a minor step forward that without the addition of new creases or wings to the body, bigger wheels and more boisterous badges on the trunk, you’d hardly spot the improvements.

Baker's identity

I am the maker of the Linux cake. The comments on Reddit are a little off; I am a female and my daughter is a developer. She is not a Linux geek however, so while she was able to advise me to use Bash Script she couldn't write a program in it off the top of her head. So I did google searches for the scripts I wanted in my program and pieced it together.

Thanks for your very kind comment about the cake.

We absolutely love your blog and find nearly all of your post's to
be just what I'm looking for. Do you offer guest writers to write content for yourself?
I wouldn't mind composing a post or elaborating on a few of the subjects you write related to here.
Again, awesome web log!

Hello, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one

If so how do you reduce it, any plugin or anything you can recommend?
I get so much lately it's driving me crazy so any assistance is very much appreciated.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm sorry to hear that your daughter isn't a Linux geek, but glad she's a geek nonetheless. ;)

Nice work!

Linux Management with Red Hat Satellite: Measuring Business Impact and ROI

Linux has become a key foundation for supporting today's rapidly growing IT environments. Linux is being used to deploy business applications and databases, trading on its reputation as a low-cost operating environment. For many IT organizations, Linux is a mainstay for deploying Web servers and has evolved from handling basic file, print, and utility workloads to running mission-critical applications and databases, physically, virtually, and in the cloud. As Linux grows in importance in terms of value to the business, managing Linux environments to high standards of service quality — availability, security, and performance — becomes an essential requirement for business success.

White Paper
Private PaaS for the Agile Enterprise

If you already use virtualized infrastructure, you are well on your way to leveraging the power of the cloud. Virtualization offers the promise of limitless resources, but how do you manage that scalability when your DevOps team doesn’t scale? In today’s hypercompetitive markets, fast results can make a difference between leading the pack vs. obsolescence. Organizations need more benefits from cloud computing than just raw resources. They need agility, flexibility, convenience, ROI, and control.

Stackato private Platform-as-a-Service technology from ActiveState extends your private cloud infrastructure by creating a private PaaS to provide on-demand availability, flexibility, control, and ultimately, faster time-to-market for your enterprise.
