You will need the following RPMs: openafs-kernel-1.2.11-fc1.0.1.i386.rpm, openafs-client-1.2.11-fc1.0.1.i386.rpm and openafs-1.2.11-fc1.0.1.i386.rpm.

The OpenAFS Wiki (especially the FAQ section): grand.central.org/twiki/bin/view/AFSLore/WebHome

There are several OpenAFS mailing lists. Information about how to subscribe and their archives can be found at: https://lists.openafs.org/mailman/listinfo

The only book about AFS, Managing AFS: The Andrew File System by Richard Campbell (Pearson Education POD, ISBN: 0138027293), is a little outdated and describes only the IBM/Transarc version of AFS. But it shows in great detail how AFS works.
