While the information given about this software is intriguing, it also seems like a poster case for bad licensing. Although it's educational software developed for an open source operating system by a non-profit foundation, as far as I can tell it is distributed only by a for-profit corporation and the source is not available.

No matter how successful the software is, I think that it will achieve only a small fraction of the success it would have had if it had been made open source.
