New SnapOST Version 4.0 from Snap Appliance Offers Platform Interoperability and Investment Protection
Snap Appliance, the worldwide volume leader in network-attached storage (NAS) solutions, continues to lead the field in platform interoperability and investment protection with the introduction of SnapOS Version 4.0, the latest version of its award-winning NAS operating system. SnapOS Version 4.0 is compatible with Windows Server 2003, providing customers with secure participation of Snap Server NAS systems with Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Service environments. SnapOS Version 4.0 will be available from the Snap Appliance web site and is backwards compatible with all SnapOS-based Snap Server products.

"Snap Appliance continues to deliver value to our customers by offering new features and software upgrades to all existing SnapOS-based Snap Server platforms."
Snap Appliance continues to offer the widest product line in the NAS market, with capacities ranging from 80GB to three terabytes. The SnapOS is the dominant NAS operating system in the workgroup NAS category, with more units shipped than all of the competition combined.
Pricing and Availability
New Snap Servers will begin shipping with Version 4.0 in January 2004. The new Version 4.0 release is backward compatible with all past workgroup Snap Server products that use the SnapOS operating system and will be available for existing customers to purchase and download from www.snapappliance.com/store beginning on December 17, 2003 or by purchasing a support contract from a Snap Appliance channel partner. The Version 4 release will be available as a free upgrade to all registered end users under service contract, and to those end users who have purchased a new product within the last 60 days.
