Linux Journal Announces Editors' Choice Awards Issue
"This issue always resonates strongly throughout the IT world for two reasons," commented Carlie Fairchild, VP of Marketing & Sales. "First of all, the Editors' Choice Awards are taken seriously by many as a snapshot of how dynamic and advanced the Linux marketplace is today. Secondly, what could be more fun than building the coolest Linux box around?"
In addition, the September issue will contain Linux Journal's standard articles and columns, including At the Forge with Reuven Lerner, Cooking With Linux by Marcel Gagne, Linux for Suits by Doc Searls and Embedded Perspective by Rick Lehrbaum and many others. Rick Lehrbaum's article is a part of Linux Journal's new section dedicated to embedded Linux.
The September issue of Linux Journal will be available on newsstands beginning in mid-August and will also be mailed to subscribers during this time. This issue will have special distribution at HP World in addition to various regional events. For more information on Linux Journal visit the web site at http://www.linuxjournal.com/.

In modern computer systems, privacy and security are mandatory. However, connections from the outside over public networks automatically imply risks. One easily available solution to avoid eavesdroppers’ attempts is SSH. But, its wide adoption during the past 21 years has made it a target for attackers, so hardening your system properly is a must.
Additionally, in highly regulated markets, you must comply with specific operational requirements, proving that you conform to standards and even that you have included new mandatory authentication methods, such as two-factor authentication. In this ebook, I discuss SSH and how to configure and manage it to guarantee that your network is safe, your data is secure and that you comply with relevant regulations.Get the Guide
