Linux Journal Announces Editors' Choice Awards Issue

SEATTLE, WA -- SSC Publications, publisher of the award-winning magazine Linux Journal, is pleased to announce the September issue of Linux Journal (number 101), which announces its 2002 Editors' Choice Awards winners. The issue's editorial theme is "The Ultimate Linux Box."

"This issue always resonates strongly throughout the IT world for two reasons," commented Carlie Fairchild, VP of Marketing & Sales. "First of all, the Editors' Choice Awards are taken seriously by many as a snapshot of how dynamic and advanced the Linux marketplace is today. Secondly, what could be more fun than building the coolest Linux box around?"

In addition, the September issue will contain Linux Journal's standard articles and columns, including At the Forge with Reuven Lerner, Cooking With Linux by Marcel Gagne, Linux for Suits by Doc Searls and Embedded Perspective by Rick Lehrbaum and many others. Rick Lehrbaum's article is a part of Linux Journal's new section dedicated to embedded Linux.

The September issue of Linux Journal will be available on newsstands beginning in mid-August and will also be mailed to subscribers during this time. This issue will have special distribution at HP World in addition to various regional events. For more information on Linux Journal visit the web site at

Linux Backup and Recovery Webinar

Most companies incorporate backup procedures for critical data, which can be restored quickly if a loss occurs. However, fewer companies are prepared for catastrophic system failures, in which they lose all data, the entire operating system, applications, settings, patches and more, reducing their system(s) to “bare metal.” After all, before data can be restored to a system, there must be a system to restore it to.

In this one hour webinar, learn how to enhance your existing backup strategies for better disaster recovery preparedness using Storix System Backup Administrator (SBAdmin), a highly flexible bare-metal recovery solution for UNIX and Linux systems.
