Don't forget, the submission deadline for the SDL Game Development Contest is December 1, 2001.
The contest is hosted and cosponsored by No Starch Press, publisher of of John Hall's Programming Linux Games. Other cosponsors are Linux Journal and Loki Software.
The contest is open to developers worldwide. Complete details can be found here, but in a nutshell: create a complete computer game under 1 megabyte using Simple DirectMedia Layer, and send it to games@nostarch.com by December 1, 2001. You could win the entire Loki Software game library, books from No Starch Press, a subscription to Linux Journal and more!

Well - the deadline has come and gone!
I'm eager to see what games people came up with.
My own initial plans were to create a clone of the game Tempest. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to finish it.
With only about two days left until the deadline, I decided to take an existing game of mine (in X-Window) and port it to SDL.
It weighs in at about 600K. Not bad!
