Embedded Linux Journal Launched as Stand-alone Magazine
SSC has earned the respect of those in the publishing field by exclusively serving specialized markets in which they have hands-on experience. Launching a magazine in the embedded field will continue that successful practice -- SSC's team includes a combined total of over 55 years experience in the embedded industry.
Embedded Linux Journal's content will focus on the use of Linux and other open-source software to increase efficiency, economy and stability in embedded design and developement. "Linux has earned a reputation as a sophisticated and powerful technology available at a lower cost, and because of that, the embedded market has come to embrace the OS," said Phil Hughes, president of SSC and publisher of Linux Journal. A founder of the Open Source movement, Hughes will act as publisher of Embedded Linux Journal.
Embedded Linux Journal will launch as a bi-monthly publication with a direct-request, controlled circulation. Free subscriptions will be targeted at qualified professionals living in North America and working in the embedded industry. Magazine subscription applications are available through http://embedded.linuxjournal.com. Charter web and print advertising programs are available by contacting Carlie Fairchild at +1 206-782-7733 x105 or firstname.lastname@example.org. In modern computer systems, privacy and security are mandatory. However, connections from the outside over public networks automatically imply risks. One easily available solution to avoid eavesdroppers’ attempts is SSH. But, its wide adoption during the past 21 years has made it a target for attackers, so hardening your system properly is a must.
Additionally, in highly regulated markets, you must comply with specific operational requirements, proving that you conform to standards and even that you have included new mandatory authentication methods, such as two-factor authentication. In this ebook, I discuss SSH and how to configure and manage it to guarantee that your network is safe, your data is secure and that you comply with relevant regulations.Get the Guide
